Urban Cubano: The Ruptured Achilles Tendon

Dude. What the hell.

I somehow managed to go almost all of last week without writing anything on here. That is no bueno.

This past Tuesday one of my clients had to get surgery to repair a ruptured achilles tendon, an injury she suffered taking a dance class. As it turns out the actual injury was not actually that difficult to recover from and heal, but the doctor found that, via the MRI and x-ray, that the tendons in her ankle were actually deteriorating.

She’s been a dancer since she was born so it’s understandable, but it is going to make her recovery that much more difficult.

I went to pick her from the hospital since she doesn’t have much family here in the states. She was out of surgery around 9:30 at night and picked her up around 10pm.

I mean literally picked her up and carried her into a cab, then rode with her back up to her apartment on the upper west side of Manhattan, carried her into the elevator and into her apartment.

Hopefully she’ll be back sooner rather than later as she is by far one of my favorite clients and I’ve known her for almost a year.

Always go the extra mile.
